Moving?

Question

Has anyone moved from a city area to a less populated area? I'm living near the lower outskirts of Chicago atm, but I'm going to be moving to somewhere in Nebraska, somewhere near Kearney, and was wondering if anyone else has made a change like that. How big of a change is it? Was it easy to get used to?

I live in Nebraska... It's a big change from Chicago.  Slower pace. People are nice.  Kind of boring.  Pluses and minuses to everything.

i grew up in the city and attended a uni in a rural area. i absolutely hated it, but it was also because i didn't like being away from my family and literally all i knew.
since i only recently graduated high school, i didn't have a car yet, and where i relocated, you needed a care to do annnnything.
i would only recommend it if you've got lots to look forward to - and if you're a family person, that too.

Yes and it's been difficult. Las Vegas has a good mix of people but this small town in Missouri doesn't. I get ALOT of looks. We have been trying to find a house or townhouse or apartment or anything to rent and when we go the people suddenly are unfriendly and weird acting. My SO and I are black and these people assume we have no money. It's one thing to ask "so what do you do", but to be nasty about like "so do you have a job". And no one believes I could possibly be a pharmacist being black with dreadlocks, tattoos and a brow ring. Like seriously a brow ring is just not considered normal around here; whereas in Vegas, people aren't even gonna notice a single brow ring. Honestly it seems like these people have never seen black folks before.

I moved from St. Louis area to a town of less than 900 people! Lol it was a big change, and there's a lot less convenience when it comes to shopping/stores/food but there is usually bigger towns around that you can go to for all that! I love my country atmosphere!! It's great 😊
