has anyone tried the ancestry DNA test?

Im just curious on whether or not it actually works. Have any of you guys done it?

I got it as a gift to my husband as he didn't really know what he was. It's pretty cool and gives you tons of info! It's worth it.

I probably can't due to past slavery and literally no record keeping or birth/ personal records for slaves.

I did it and it opened a lot of doors for me! I was adopted and it gave me a lot of insight on my bio parents. I knew some stuff like basic names, but it gave me so much more. And I've now been able to go at least 10 generations back in my family. I say definitely worth it!!
