breast feeding
Hi all! My son had been feeding every 3 hours on the dot with the exception of the very beginning when my milk was coming in. I've never had a problem with lack of supply, more oversupply than anything. He's now consistently waiting 4 hours the past few days to eat. I always allow him to come off the breast, burp him, then offer it again, if he takes it I'll wait till he comes off again, burp him and offer the other breast. He eats extremely fast, like at little as 8 minutes some feedings. I've given him a bottle of pumped milk to see how much he is eating in that amount of time and he eats up to 8 oz in 15-20minutes with a bottle which i know flows much slower than my breasts. after a feeding he acts full, is gaining weight, has plenty of wet and dirty diapers, etc. so my question is, is this normal? Or should I start waking him up to feed every three hours? Everywhere I've read has said not to wake them, and a large part of me feels like he will wake up if he's hungry but I don't want him to be lacking nutrients. Looking for input please 😊
