Should consent from the biological father be required before a woman can get an abortion?

At the very least, it should be legally required that the father be notified prior to the procedure, and counseling should follow with both biological parents before an abortion is performed.
But in my personal moral opinion, YES! If a father is willing to raise the child by himself, I don't think an abortion should be allowed. 
I'm personally pro-life, though.

Until dad is able to physically bear the child for 9 months and take on all the "joys" of pregnancy, it's not his choice. Pregnancy in America is expensive, pregnancy in general can damage your career and destroy your body. It's not someone else's choice to decide if I'm going to put my body through that.

Plus, if a woman wanted an abortion and the father said no, it seems like that's making a situation where the mother would be more likely to engage in risky behaviors in order to try to abort naturally. If you then try to control what someone eats and does with their life to prevent that, society is going down a very dangerous road indeed.

Where I love you can't go to an abortion clinic and get an abortion without the fathers consent unless that person has papers from a police report or stating that the person was indeed raped.

Was the mother raped?
Does the father care in regards to his parental rights?
 Will the mother be safe if the pregnancy is continued? 
What happens if the father decides he won't give consent, but later walks out at a point where abortion is no longer an option?

While men should DEFINITELY have a say and a right to give their opinion I do not believe if the man says no that the mother can not have one.

I also believe if the man wants her to get an abortion and she doesn't that he should not have to pay child support.

I understand that the people who say yes have reasons why, whether it be beliefs or what have you, but just because the father might want the baby, how is it fair to force a woman to go through a pregnancy for a child she doesn't want? The father should have the right to know the woman is pregnant, but it's unfair for a woman to have to bare the physical and financial burden of a pregnancy she doesn't want to continue for a child she doesn't want a part in raising. I'm pro-choice because someone else's decision is absolutely none of my business, but I could never personally go through an abortion myself. The father having to consent takes all decision from the mother. That's unfair. It's her body, not his.

I would think the other way around. Woman has control on their body so they can decide if they want to keep it or not,  man's decision is out of the picture. 
However, to be parent, a man should have the right to opt out. There is indeed some blackmailing done by women. In northern European countries, such laws have been created to let men opt out. 
You can't force a woman to keep a baby, but you should not be able to force a paternity too. 
If you allow a man to decide to keep a baby unwillingly, well, I guess many gay men will have sex with women and force them to keep it. (No problem with gay, but just mentioning the loophole). Not every country allow them sufficient rights, so the tentation will be too great.

I wish i could say yes. Because really, its not fair, both people are the potential parents of a child.

But if i were pregnant, and for whatever reason i didnt want to raise the child, or couldnt, i wouldnt be okay with the father taking that choice away from me, when its me putting my life and body at risk to have the child.

And it begs the question of, if we are gunna give the father legal rights of a unborn child, a fetus, than u must know that it would have to work the other way too. If the mother wanted to keep the child and the father didnt? Would you want someone trying to force u to abort?
