What do you write in a christening card?

Question

I'm going to my fiancé's colleagues christening for his 9 month old son on Sunday and we want to get a card and give them some money/a gift, however what the heck do I write in the card!?

Also what is a good gift for a christening seeing as they aren't very very close family, just work friends ?

I've never been to a christening before!

Usually a written prayer is enough. 
Something like, "may God bless your little one.  May (s)he grow in faith, love, and trust in God"

I usually don't like to give money as a gift but I think it's perfectly acceptable and probably preferable for a christening. A lot of parents put the money aside for college and such.  In the card I would write something along the lines of "May your son receive many blessings in his life."

There are many religious children's books out there. Books are always my fall-back idea. I'm a reading teacher and determined to get all parents to read to their kids from an early age!

For baptisms in my family we usually just give the child a gift card to Toys R Us or 2-3 cute outfits 😊

Depending on the age too - older children will obviously get different things if they aren't in that Toys R Us "stage" 😂

In the card you can say something like ...

'Wishing the entire family all the best on this special and momentous day. May it bring with lots of love, joy and happiness.' ❤

Put money in the card or buy wipes/diapers and put them in the card.also maybe include an outfit in one of the bigger sizes in baby clothes.people often don't think about that.just do what you can,but diapers and wipes are a serious must have to me as a parent. My baby goes through 6 packs of wipes a month. I think everyone has made great suggestions for the card. You could do a scripture about children. 1 Samuel chapter 1 somewhere in verse 26 or 27 it says for this child I have prayed and then the next verse talks about giving that baby back to God.that would be perfect for a christening in my opinion
