MTHFR pregnancy?

Hello all - my husband and I are trying to learn more about MTHFR and pregnancy in order to decide if we should move forward with either trying to conceive naturally or adopt. I'm a heterozygous MTHFR carrier and have hypothyroidism. We haven't been actively trying to conceive yet but have been tracking  bbt and taking ovulation tests with mixed results. Any mamas out there a heterozygous MTHFR carrier? Was pregnancy difficult? Did you have to take extra precautions during pregnancy to carry the baby to term?

I am a carrier. I did not even know it my first pregnancy!  No issues at all. After my baby was born my sister got pregnant. She is a homozygous carrier and had a more challenging time. However, she carried full term and had a healthy baby, too. She had some contractions 30 weeks on and they just kept stopping them and sending her home, a pain in the ass for sure but no long term issues. Once my dr learned my sister has it he tested me and I found out I was a heterozygous carrier. He ran a couple extra tests and I'm now almost 35 weeks and haven't had to do anything different. I'm not super informed on it, my sister has done a ton of research, but it hasn't made a difference for me. Good luck to you!!! 👍
