how much formula should a 5 month old be eating?

My baby is 5 months old and he is drinking 7 1/2 oz of formula every 2-3 hours except overnight. I'm afraid I'm overfeeding him. How much do your 5 month olds drink?

My 5 month old has four 8oz bottles a day (32 oz) and 2 tbs of cereal for breakfast 
Usually follows a pretty predictable schedule

6am formula
830am cereal
11 am formula
2-230 pm formula 
530 formula 
He sleeps from 6pm-6am usually so no night feedings for about 2 months now

The general rule is their weight times 2, up to an approx max of 32ounces per day. I'm sure more during a growth spurt is great too! Our little one is 19wks and eats 5 bottles per day, they are between 5-6ish ounces each and she totals around 27-31 for the day.

My boy was 5months yesterday and has 7oz of milk 3 or 4 times a day. It's reflux milk so thick like milkshake and I think it fills him up for longer, which is why sometimes he'll only have 3 feeds a day. Our Health Visitor disappeared when he was 8weeks and the Doctors won't weigh him, but he looks a lovely healthy weight.

Wow!! I thought you aren't supposed to feed more than 32 ounces of formula a day.. If they're needed more than that I think you're supposed to supplement with baby food if over 4 months. My 5 month old has 4 ounces every 3 hours except overnight.
