Best excuse?

What is your best excuse that got you out of a ticket? I don't drive so I have none. But I'm curious what you all have said.

About two years ago I got pulled over doing 110 in a 65, but the cop only clocked me in at 85. I didn't get out of it with him, but I went to court and the judge told me to write a letter to the DA. I did, explaining that I didn't have any previous driving record issues and that I was just a dumb kid who made a mistake. He let me off with a muffler violation, a $150 fine, instead of the 4 points and $500 fine it would have been for the speeding ticket. Needless to say, I don't speed much anymore

I've never purposefully given an excuse to get out of a ticket - but I was 16 when I was first pulled over (for doing 5 over...) and it was right after I picked up my dad's ashes from the funeral home. The officer let me go. Another time I got pulled over for speeding I was doing more than 5 over, I was just late for class. I didn't give an excuse but the officer was really nice and said to just slow down.

Tell the truth... I got pulled over once, I knew I was speeding and told the cop exactly how fast I was going and when he asked why I was speeding, I told him I really had no reason and was just on my way home from work and he let me go with just a verbal warning. (I was doing 40 in a 25) If he would of given me a ticket it would of been a few hundred dollars.
