Starting cereal before 6 mos, I can't keep it up
I wanted so badly to make it to 6 mos EBF, she turns 5 mos next week. I work full time, returned in January, and she's been at daycare most of the week the past two weeks. She will not drink more than 1 oz from a bottle from anyone (yes we've tried every bottle) and she also is not sleeping well at night anymore, probably hungry after not eating as much as she wants all day. Daycare has me going in to nurse her 2x during the day, I am spending hours and hours going back and forth between home, work and daycare. My boss is nice about it right now but I am afraid I'm going to lose my job. Daycare keeps asking to give her cereal and I think I am going to start it. I'm going to ask her doctor this week. I know it's best to wait till 6 mos and start with things other than cereal but I also have to keep my job and stay sane for her. Other people need to be able to feed her, it can't just be my boob all day every day. I am losing my mind.
Update: saw pediatrician today, he said introducing cereal before age 6 mos is more for texture experience than nutrition and daycare should not use cereal as a substitute for her drinking milk from bottle or me. He said we need to get the bottle working. We will keep trying.
