Will you be refusing the VitD drops for your EBF babies?

Mom can take enough vitamin d to come through in milk. It's a pretty high dose..6400mcg daily. But there are many newly documented benefits to take this much. That's what I do.

I don't want to give baby drops as most are in sugary liquids and I'd rather him not get a sweet tooth this young.

I've been giving them to my son since the doctor gave us some. It doesn't transfer through our breastmilk and they can't get the calcium they need without vitamin d

Why wouldn't you give vitamin D drops? D deficiency can be serious and easily avoided by giving the drops. You might even need them yourself!

Yep.  We give mommy's bliss.  It is only vitamin d, one drop and no additives.  We tried the Enfamil one and it gave her horrible gas.

No I take a lot of D and enough transfers to her

Yes I do! I also live in a state where a lot of people are deficient due to it being so gloomy. We have all 4 seasons... the end of fall, winter and beginning of spring tend to have a lot of gloomy days.

I was told by my doctor that it was unnecessary. She said go outside every now and then as drink a glass of milk. 
I love milk so I haven't worried too much about it.

My Pediatrician said that my baby needed it if I wasn't getting enough,  because such a small amount transfers through breastmilk,  but I actually get so much VD because of all of the supplements that I'm taking,  that I can get away with not giving extra to my baby. Ask your Pediatrician how much you would need to take personally for it to transfer through your milk.

I give the drop. It's winter and there isn't much sun. My ped said it wasn't a big deal
