in need of help!

Im 37weeks and need help with the whole contraction thing... so I know they hit you everyone is a hit but I don't know how far long nor anything? My midwife didn't really explain good..?? So am a bit upset. But anyways I don't think I've had one yet? Or at least not that I know of.

Can someone explain please???
