cramps! advice please?!?!

I am about 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Iv been getting cramps at around 4pm every day for three days, they are in the middle of my lower abdomen and feel like period pains, they are quite painful but only last a few minutes and then they go away. I have had no bleeding or spotting at all. I went to see the doctor today and he said he wants me to go for a scan tomorrow to make sure it's not an ectopic pregnancy. He said it's unlikely but they want to check to be on the safe side. Now I am completely panicking!!! Anyone have any advice or had similar symptoms???

I had this too, and I was worried I had an ectopic pregnancy so I paid for an early scan at eight weeks (in the UK first scan is at 12 weeks, I have mine tomorrow) and the baby was fine and in the right place. Cramping is normal, but anything you are worried about should always be checked out. Good luck. xx

I had a ton of cramps of all kinds (never very painful, tho) until about nine weeks.

I had a lot of one sided pain early on where it would last a few seconds and then disappear.  Turns out the pain was just from my uterus stretching (round ligament pain). It went away altogether after a few weeks :) good luck!
