Is this a fair amount to pay my mom for watching baby?

I'm headed back to work next Friday and my Mom has agreed to watch my daughter for $100 a week. She's going to watch her from 8-5:30ish on MTThF. Does that seem fair? Thanks for your help!

Is that the amount she came up with? If so, then it sounds great. If not, it only comes out to $25 a day and I would give more.

Unless she's doing it as a favor to you.. really it all depends on your Mom.

We're paying my MIL $200/week year round even though she won't have her during the summer. $100 is significantly less than daycare, you won't have to take sick days, and (assuming she's a good mom and that's why you're choosing her) you won't have to worry about your baby. For all those reasons, I would say it's worth it. I wish we could just pay $100 but she's quitting her job and it's the most we could afford. Another benefit someone pointed out to me is that if your mom has a good phone she can send you pics and videos 😍😍😍

This is a really good question that I was worried about. But yea that sounds like a good amount per week. I'm paying my mom $25 a day so that's only a little more than you but around the same. My mom thinks it's too much because she's family, she even offered to do it for free or for a way smaller amount but I honestly appreciate her taking care of her a lot. At first I wasn't sure how much to pay but I asked another girl at my work how much she payed.

I'll be paying $375 a week for a nanny and that's pretty reasonable as far as nanny's go, but I'd expect to pay family less if they were not working otherwise and were intending to help you out.

I pay my mom $100 a week and she watches baby from 8am-12pm M-F. But she also lives with me and doesn't have to worry about rent or utilities. I think it's all dependent on your relationship with her and if she feels it is fair. But $100/week is a very good deal, at least in my situation it's good on both ends and was agreed upon between myself and my mom. Also, since she lives with me, I'm very lucky to have her around for when hubby and I want to take a couple hours away during the weekend.

So that comes out to be about $2.60 an hour.. I'm paying $6 an hour to my sister inlaw, and I'm getting a great deal! I guess it depends on where you are located, but daycare where I live is anywhere from $10- $15 an hour so im happy with what I have, specialty since she is family and VERY trust worthy. So you're getting a smokin deal!
