I started BC January 27, then waited a week as recommended and had sex February 4th but my period in 11 days late. The birth control I'm using is the shot and its said I will still have my period for at least a year. Should I be worried?

Regardless, the shot is a heavy dose of hormones being injected into your body, it's gonna mess with your cycle. Yeah you might get periods over the next year, but they most likely will not be regular.

I'm not sure about the shot, but with the pills/patch, it "resets" your cycle so to speak. Like you won't get it for 3 weeks after starting. I hope that makes sense!
