PAINFUL PERIODS!!!!!
I've always had a heavy flow and painful cramps! Like using 5 ultra sized tampons a day for 7 days straight, the LARGEST size tampons they make and an overnight pad when I sleep!
Currently I am on the progesterone only pill because I can't take estrogen, which REALLY sucks because estrogen is the hormone that helps alleviate pain and heavy flow or at least make it manageable!
Anyways the progesterone only pill only stops ovulation in about 50% of your cycles, prevents pregnancy in other ways, so this month I ovulated- you can tell by your cervical mucus. And of course this period is as heavy and painful as it was before I ever started birth control.
Here's my question: since I can't take estrogen my options are the mini pills (currently on), depo shot (did for 6 months but gained 60 pounds however stopped my periods altogether), hormonal iuds, or the arm implant. Which would you suggest? Do the other methods help with period flow and pain? I would do depo again but scared of more weight gain, although I was not working out or watching what I ate since I used to have a fast metabolism.
Sorry this post was really long. At this point ANY advice will really help. I did take pain medication and I can't take anymore for the day and I was still in bed crying for at least 30 minutes.
