periods

Ok guys so I've been on the depo shot for a couple years now I recently got off of it an I'm currently taken the pills , I haven't had a period in so long btw so since I've came on I've been bleeding  so much to where I use up two night time pads also the pain is unbearable. Me an my boyfriend don't use condoms btw so my question is should I go to the ER or my doctor or just let it run its course
