anger management/therapy for my husband?

Hi, I don't know where to start with this topic...I believe my husband needs to try to see someone but he is reluctant. How do I go about finding a therapist or someone for him to even see? Does insurance cover something like this? Thank you.

Honestly, he has to make the decision for himself. You could end up finding a therapist that he won't mesh with. It takes acceptance and research and if he's not there yet, you have to accept and respect that. Continue to talk to him, but don't be too pushy about it. Just show him you are concerned, but are supportive. Best of luck.

Most insurance covers it and im pretty sure it's through mental health but I am not 100% sure. Depending on what insurance he has depends on where he needs to go. With Kaiser its right there on their website (I think) and their anger management is an 8 weeks class you go once a week but you'll have to wait a while for an opening if they don't have a spot open. I would just call his normal doctor and ask them for a referral.

The insurance may cover it, or you may be able to find a therapist or counselor who is willing to take you on a sliding scale, or even take the amount that your co-pay would normally be. If he is reluctant to go on his own, you could try couples counseling and have anger management and communication as the main focus. Then perhaps he will gain the courage to do it on his own from there.
