What causes late periods?

So according to glow my period is late. Me and my boyfriend had sex but we used a condom and he pulled out. Also I've been to the gym a couple times since my last period and I had 2 days of extreme conditiong for softball. And I've been stressed about not having my period. Does that explain why I haven't had it yet?
