My birth story

Kirsten
On Tuesday Feb 21st, I was having on and off contractions, nothing I thought too much of where I had been having early labor for weeks. That night I went to walk around the track at the YMCA, and by 8, they had started to pick up a bit. At 10, they kinda subsided and I fell asleep. At 12:30 in the morning I woke up with AWFUL back contractions. I started timing them and when they were about 7 minutes apart at 2:30 in the morning, I called my ob office, and they sent out a page, when a half hour went by I still hadn't heard from my doctor, I called again and my contractions were 6 minutes apart. By 3:30 I still hadn't heard from a doctor. So I called and told the on call answering guy that my contractions were 5 minutes apart, I lived an hour away from the hospital, and that I was headed in. I was in tears from the pain. So I came in, and when I got here at 5am they told me I was 5cm and in active labor! By 7:30 my doctor came in broke my water and told me I was 7cm. At 8:30 I felt the urge to push, and he was here at 8:43. I had gotten the epidural, but by the time I got it, I hardly even felt like I had one. I was screaming while pushing him out, in so much pain. I knew that I had tore because I felt it, which made me scream more. But, at 8:43 when they put that baby on my chest, I forgot all of it. I cried and cried and cried. We welcomed Isaiah Alan into the world at 7lbs 7oz and 19 1/4 inches long. I was 38weeks, 2days. He is perfectly healthy and I am sore but doing great. 💙💙
