You can but it would be considered a luteal phase defect if af actually came 9 date after ovulation.

I had a period that was 10 days late, I took a pregnancy test the day before my next period, I just knew even with the second one. I had a positive test, I knew I conceived in the 3rd week of my cycle because I kept track of them to conceive. I'm generally a 29 day cycle even 16 and 14 days later.
