Im having my first baby and I was wondering what exactly do you register for The baby shower?

Everything you need. Don't register for clothes, everyone and their mother will buy clothes and none of it will be what you asked for. And whatever you don't get you'll get a discount on when you go to buy it later. So add those expensive items, even if you don't think people will buy it. Diapers, bottle sets, burp cloths, diaper bag, baby bath, bath sets, bedding, etc. are all good things to register for.

I registered at Target and they had a great check off list to make sure you got everything you needed. I literally went through every category. Even if you already have the item (I got a crib for free and my best friend bought me a pack n play) put it on the list and check it off as purchased. There will be people that assume you forgot that item and will buy it for you anyways. Definitely don't add clothes! People will buy you a ton of clothes and not care what kind you want 😁

I registered for everything I though I would need or want besides the crib/changing table and bedding set because I wanted to set up the nursery myself and never really thought it was appropriate to ask for that. The big ticket items I asked for were the car seat, stroller set, baby bath, bassinet. Then medium ticket items were like the jumpers, high chair, play mats, diaper bags, carrier, etc. Then lower ticket items were like bath sets, baby grooming set, diapers, wipes, closet organizers. People will buy clothes and pacifiers regardless. I also didn't ask for a breast pump because my insurance covers it, which of you haven't already you might want to look into if yours does.

Baby bathtub soap and shampoos for baby aveeno stuff, a Braun forehead thermometer, a crib mattress, bedding set, baby books, safety kit that has like baby hair brush nail clippers that sort of thing, forks spoons and bowls

I went to babies r us, buy buy baby and target

I ended up registering at Target it was sooooo simple. Babies r us was a joke to me with all their reward programs blah blah blah way too confusing plus we only have one in town, buy buy baby insanely over priced and no one goes there....so target was my best option!

I agree with registering for everything you need and definitely don't register for clothes especially if you are having a girl. People love buying clothes and even if you register they won't get the ones you want. Just think of your registry as one big shopping list. Everything you need. Then a lot of times you will get a certain percent off remaining items that you didn't get for your shower. People like options to choose from.. and when they don't find something they like they will get you something random that you don't need.

I used babylist and I really liked it a lot because I could add links to other registries I created as well as items from random places such as Etsy, pottery barn, rh baby etc. without having ppl go to a million different sites. You could literally put anything from any website. Totally worth checking out.

I personally never registered for the big items. I'd do things like clothes socks diapers wipes blankets swaddlers toys soaps lotions...
