Anyone have experience with a tongue tie correction?

Hello everyone! My beautiful 3 week old baby girl has a tongue tie and it is making nursing excruciating.

I haven't wanted to put her through the possible pain from having her tongue tie corrected, but it's making it unbearable for me to nurse her, to the point that I dread it. It makes me feel so sad and guilty. 😪

Does anyone have experience with this? How was the procedure, how was the recovery, did it help?

My daughter had a lip and tongue tie we had corrected at 3 weeks. The procedure took about 30 seconds, she nursed and then was fine. We had to do stretches for 3 weeks after to make sure they didn't reattach. Ties can cause speech and dental issues.  The procedure is much more difficult when they are older as well. We had a pediatric dental surgeon perform the procedure.

Nursing for me was also excruciating. By about a week after the procedure it was pain free. I did work with a lactation consultant to help her learn to latch correctly.

One of my boys was tongue tied. He had an awful latch and we had it corrected when he was about a week old. It was such a fast procedure. The ENT had me stay and hold his arms. He only cried for a min and they had me nurse right after. He's never had any complications and now he's a chatty 2yo. My brother didn't have his corrected till he was much older (4ish??) and he needed to see a speech therapist for a long time to correct his speech that he learned while it was still tied. I recommend correcting while they're still young.
