9 dpo to test or not to test?

Question

I had positive ovulation test on valentines day spotting yesterday at 8 dpo just pink on toilet paper. I have a few dollar store tests would it be a waste to take one today at 9 dpo? My birthday is the day my period is due I kinda don't want to wake up on my birthday to a letdown.

I got my positive 9dpo, it was very faint tho, and that was 2 days after I had cramping, which I thought was my impending period but ended up being implantation cramping.  So it wouldn't hurt to take one I don't think but I would try not to be to upset if it's a negative cuz it could be still to early. When is your AF due?
