how to tell the diff ?

Question

I'm 37 weeks 4 days 
Went to my doctor on Wednesday and he says I'm 1.5 cm dilated 
But my cervix is really really soft , forward facing and measuring about 39 weeks.
He asks me if I have contractions I tell him no
But after his examination he told me I'm deff having some just not noticing .
I just lost a piece of my plug So things are moving along.
My question is how do you tell your contractions from the baby moving ?
I just keep mistaking them for my child moving I think .

If you are getting any contractions or "Braxton Hicks " your stomach area will tighten and feel hard for at least 30 seconds and release. I mainly feel them when I lay down on my back for a few minutes.

Hm well my stomach will deff go crazy like he's shifting around 
Then sometimes I will feel some tightness but then the shifting again.
I also feel like bulging out my side which I'm sure is the baby.

My little guy is already dropping last week my belly measured 36 weeks and this week it was 34 . I have been having a lot of pressure and pain down there . I have a feeling my little guy won't make it to his due date . I hope he stays in for at least two more weeks

Braxton Hicks, or practice contractions, will just feel like your stomach tightening around the baby and not be very painful. I notice mine when my stomach feels hard and usually baby stops moving for a minute. These are usually less than a minute long and not regular in pattern. Baby moving will just feel like little jabs from the inside in one or a couple localized spots. Hope this helps. :)
