Miss maddy is here! I was due march 17th, but...

On Tuesday night I had been experiencing some mild contractions. I was 36weeks & knew that if it was labor, the hospital would let it run it's course. So I decided to monitor at home for a while to see if they were progressing, before coming to the hospital. I bounced on my yoga ball for relief, & took a nice long warm shower. The contractions hadn't become any stronger or more frequent in the couple of hours that I watched them, so I had decided I was going to lay down & try to get some rest. Not long after I had laid down, I felt a pop, & my pajamas had quickly become wet. I called for my husband who was in the next room thinking my water had broken, but when I looked down, it was blood that had saturated me. We rushed to the hospital, where I was immediately put on monitors & evaluated. Thank God the doctors were able to locate the babys heart rate & assured me that even though they weren't sure what was going on just yet, she was stable. Innitially we thought that my amniotic membrane ruptured and was tinted with blood, but with the presence of blood a ph test was useless, & my ultrasound showed that there was still fluid surrounding Maddy in womb. Doctors decided to keep me for monitoring. I was contracting, but not progressing, yet my pain levels had increased significantly throughout the night, & the bleeding continued. When Wednesday morning came around, the doctors grew concerned with the facts. By the sounds of it, i had a potential placental abruption, which they couldn't confirm or deny. Rather than waiting it out, they made a wise decision to remove Madolyn from the situation before it could take a turn for the worse. I was prepped for surgery, & soon after delivered Maddy by cesarean. The surgery confirmed I did in fact have a placental abruption as suspected. Had we not come to the hospital right away, & had the doctors not been proactive in my care, we may not have been so lucky to have our beautiful baby girl. Unfortunately they cannot tell me why the abruption had occured, as I do not meet any of the direct knwon causes. But we are truly very lucky, & I owe all of our thanks to the labor & delivery staff that day.
