How do I ask my mom for an IUD?

I'm 18 and I've been having sex for a while now but I get so paranoid with condoms. I don't want to go on the pill because I'm forgetful and I've thought it over and an IUD seems right for me. What should I do???

You can go to Planned Parenthood and not even have to tell her.

Your 18 you can do whatever you want. But if it's a respect thing for your mom I would just sit her down and say look mom it's time to get real... lol and just tell her what's up I'm sure she will be glad your being so smart about not wanting babies yet. :)

It can give you pid many doctors will only want to give it to you after you've had a baby. I suggest getting the ring or the shot until you see if you like it & then get the implant because the implant & the shot are the same hormonally but the shot isnt good over time

You're 18, you don't need her😁😁 PP can do them, your regular obgyn. If she happens to find out through insurance, so be it as long as it's in there. You might have to pay some cash up front though. I had to bc my insurance didn't cover all of it. Just call the office and they'll tell you if you're going to owe any OOP expenses
