Here's what I've learned thus far. My daughter is 19 weeks today.

Do not overload on clothes nor diapers. Having a "stash" might look good in theory, until u realize ur baby grows like a weed and now u can't return 3 quorters of the newborn clothes u have...and if u want to get some of ur money back, u now have to go on a returning stuff spree that can take lots of time. ..with a newborn, not so fun or easy to do.

Keep diapers at a minimum.. 4 boxes of newborn size diapers should be plenty to start with. 10-15 MAX newborn clothes are more than enough.

Also, know the MANY newborns do not even sleep in their crib, until older. That's cause a crib is too big, too empty and too lonely for a newborn (no need for anyone to say "my baby slept in a crib from day one" I get it, not all babies hate cribs...most do)

A co sleeper that attaches to ur bed, might be the smarter way to go for the first few good months. Ur closer to the baby and baby feels u right there.

Baby wipes are a must.. get as many as u can.. they go quick.

The car seat and stroller combo, also a must and should be bought soon..

I recommend staying away from Britax as they have over 150k active recalls. Also, mist graco suck..in my opinion.

Invest in long gowns instead of onsies.. a gown is so much easier on diaper changes, especially at night. Nothing worse than having to unzip and zip again, or button it and unbutton it in the middle of the night, fully waking up the baby. A gown is so easy...pull up, change diaper, pull down-done.

As far a a good traveling system, I recommend getting the Chicco Bravo Trio Travel system. It's rated nr 1 above all in safety, quality, durability and ease of use.
