my first time- advice please?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years now. Had a long distance relationship and he surprised me in my hometown about a month ago- he's waiting here until I finish school in a few months so we can move to California together (I live in Belgium and he's from Cali).
I'm a virgin but he's not but I'm ready to give myself to him, not just because he waited so long but also because I really want it now and I love him so much and I'm pretty needy lately.
I don't know if I should tell him just like that or if that would be awkward. Should I just go for it and make out and get undressed. I don't want to seem too needy (even tho I really want it with him) but also I want him to want it.
Would I have to touch him? I think I'd just laugh if he gets near my parts or the other way around- I'm not immature I've seen penises on porn and I'm a 23 year old medicine student but I just laugh when I feel awkward and I am kinda uncomfortable because I don't like my body.

It always feels a little awkward the first time with anyone even if its just a new person!! But talking about it shouldnt feel awkward. If you're afraid to talk about it then it could be a sign that your relationship isnt quite ready yet
