Has anyone used spermicide condoms/lube before?

Has anyone had experience using spermicide to prevent pregnancy (either condoms with spermicide lubricant or getting spermicide lube and using it with a regular condom)? How effective is it? My partner and I have been using regular condoms but I was thinking of using spermicide condoms around ovulation. Thoughts?

Spermicide can definitely help reduce the chances of pregnancy, especially when paired with condoms or a diaphragm. Spermicide is only 82% effective so you should use it with condoms or some other barrier method.
I've used spermicide with condoms and with my diaphragm. I prefer using it with my diaphragm since I don't get the burning sensation when I pee after using it like​ I did when I just used it with a condom.

I've used spermicide condoms and regular ones, never gotten pregnant so I can't talk to the efficacy of them comparatively. But I would warn you that the common spermicide . . . It's something-9-ol I believe . . . can irritate your vagina. In addition, it will turn your mouth numb if you get it anywhere near your mouth. There are alternatives to it which are apparently more comfortable, but I haven't used them.
