sore nipples?

Anyone else dealing with sore nipples? My son is 5 days old and I'm exclusively breastfeeding but my nipples are so sore 😫 I've been putting on lanolin ointment after every feeding but it doesn't seem to do the trick. Any advice?

Make sure you dry off before putting your bra back on. It's a balancing act: too much moisture and your nipples don't toughen up, not enough and you'll crack. I definitely recommend the hydrogel pads. Chill them and use them right after you nurse.

My nipples were bleeding and in so much pain the first week. I was using the medela lanolin but I felt like that did not help. So I purchased an organic nipple balm. It help sooth and heal my nipples really well! By the end of the second week I was able to breastfeed easily without pain. I was so glad I bought the organic nipple balm - it worked for me! Also, use cooling gels.

It get better after 6 weeks but I found that pumping session help relieve and gives them a break from pain from my son. I would rotate between sessions during the day.

Try soaking them in epsom salt with warm water

I use earthy mama angel baby nipple butter I think it works so much better than lanolin! My daughter is 11 days old EBF.
