I dread these the most!

I caught a cold, started on the throat, shore and hurting alot I can't take any medicine. So it was honey and lemon for me, I got better then it attached the nose so now I have a puffy nose and cough alot... So sea water to clear the nostrils and lemon and honey as before, im not getting better nor worst I just want this to go away, Dr tells me I can only take paracetamol... Does nothing to me :D I'm doomed any suggestions of what you do when catching a cold ?
