implantation hemorrhage

So last night took a turn for the worst. I started bleeding a lot, I mean pouring blood and it was dark and bright at times. I thought I was having a miscarriage. I went to the hospital and they said it was some type of implantation hemorrhage. They said it should resolve around the second trimester but it has to be watched carefully. Did anyone else have this same issue and how did you cope?
