How many working moms?

So many people are really making me feel guilty that I have to go back to work and put my baby in daycare. I was even told that if I couldn't be a stay at home mom I should never have had a baby. I just wanna see who else is in the same boat. Maybe other working moms can give me some words of encouragement that I'm not awful!!!!

Punch those people in the throat. Seriously!!! SAHM are just as awesome as us working moms. There are benefits and cons to both sides! The awesomeness of being a working mom? I AM A BETTER MOM to my daughter!! I get a break and adult time ... I feel proud of and validated in my work and bringing home a paycheck for my family. My daughter is interacting with new people and babies at daycare and learning things so early by watching older kids ... they have a curriculum which if I were a SAHM I could never maintain ... she's building up an immunity to sickness before elementary school ... and I don't have to worry about money at home trying to make it work on one salary. I am PROUD to be a working mom and my daughter is just as smart, just as loved, just as healthy as anyone else! My mom worked and I turned out pretty kickass 😏

I'm sorry, whoever told you that you shouldn't have kids if you couldn't stay home is an idiot and should be smacked across their face. I'm sorry, how can anyone afford NOT to work? Even if we had gone on assistance and not paid for daycare we still couldn't have made it. Maybe someday I can have the luxury of not working but you shouldn't have to give up wanting to be a mother just because you can't stay home. Or maybe you WANT to work. You are not a bad mother. You are working to support your child and one day they will thank you for it 💕

I am working part time as a music teacher. It's the best of both worlds! I'm at work (preschool -fifth grade) 3 days a week and get that great social aspect,  and I get Friday through Monday home with my baby girl. I LOVE my schedule!

I wanted to go back to work.  I love my job (most days). I'm a RN in a hospital on a med/surg floor. I love that I only work 3 days a week and can be home with my little guy the other days.  I also know I would go completely crazy if I stayed home.  I need adult conversation in my life.  Yes- my husband and I could live on just his income,  but life is so much more comfortable with both of ours. Even before getting pregnant I knew I would be a working mom and that doesn't make me any less of a mom.  I give kudos to those women who can stay home and enjoy doing so- it's just not for me.  ☺

Psh, I think it's weird when someone says they're a SAHM. 1) how?! 2) why?! I loveeee my little boy but I want him to be as proud of his working mama as I am of mine! I'm excited for him to go to day care and meet baby friends and learn and socialize while mama and daddy get their grown up time and bring in the $$. We're providing a beautiful life for him and we cherish our morning and evening routines and LOVE our weekend adventures. I see it is an extremely positive experience for the entire family. I know a few kids who never went to day care and I strongly believe it's a benefit to a baby's development and socialization. I even vaguely remember reading in Bringing up Bebe that some French women who don't work still send their kids to day care for those reasons. Don't feel one ounce of guilt!

I'm a working mom and I think I'm doing a pretty good job lol!! You need to be able to provide a good life for your baby!! Working mom's are badass, they work full time then go home and work even harder! Don't ever let other moms put you down for ANYTHING, if your baby is happy and healthy then you're doing it right. Hold your head high and go back to work and prove all those sanctimommies wrong!! It's hard to leave them at first but it gets better with time.

I do sometimes feel guilty and sad that I don't get to spend more time with her but I know that she's well taken care of. It does in fact take more than 1 person to raise a child! That's what I have to keep telling myself. Your LO will still know that you're mom and that you and your partner/husband/what have you are the most important and they love you. The big smile when you go to pick them up at daycare is the best!
