Meeting someone online?

Has anyone ever met their significant other on a dating site? I think it's a bit weird and dangerous but I know it turns out great for some people. I'm a single female and I want to start dating around. Just nervous to meet some crazy pedetor online and get kidnapped or something. lol.

I met my husband online,  on a site that isn't around anymore.  It was about 4 years ago,  dating online can be scary and weird,  I went thru a couple men who we're just weird on there until I found my husband. But we skyped a lot and talked on the phone before we met in person and it made it so much easier and calmed my nerves.  It can work for some people just be cautious but keep yourself open for love if you decide to go the Internet route. Good luck!

I met my hubby on okcupid. Now it wasn't easy to find him, I went on a lot of dates with a lot of wacky people.. but all those dates were worth finding him! To play it safe I told my best friend his name, where we were going, and sent a picture of him that he sent me. Luckily I never got catfished. Just be cautious and let someone know where you're going.. always meet the person where there's a lot of people around.. restaurant, mall, bowling alley. Etc...

So, my husband and I met online, but not on a dating site. He asked me out and I turned him down...several times.

I signed up for a dating site 3 years later and he happened to be a member. Again he asked me out and I blew him off. I spent 6 months dating various guys who were either horrid or just not for me. After one particularly awful date and right before Valentine's Day, hubby asked me out again. I said egg it. Couldn't be any worse than all the others...and 10 years later, here we are!

Just be smart. Meet in public places, always have your phone and cash. Don't go in private or give really private info until you trust they aren't maniacs.

I kind of met my husband online. We actually talked online, and had a really boring conversation. It didn't get past basic introductions before it died off.
Two months later, I go to my coworker's birthday party, and he's there. I recognize him right away but I'm so embarrassed and hope that he doesn't recognize me from that brief conversation a couple months before...
He did (though thankfully he didn't say anything about it at the party!). We talked all night, then he found me again in the dating app and asked me out on a date the next day. 
It's weird, because we weren't particularly struck by each other in the app. If not for running into him in person, we would have never talked again.

My brother met his wife on a dating site. She said she wasn't into him that much at first bc he was "too metrosexual" but then she went home and thought about what a goldmine he was and changed her mind. Within 3 years they were married, he gave up full custody, they moved 12 hours away, took her kids and left his kids behind. She definitely hit the dating site jackpot. My brothers not a creeper and will do anything his woman wants

I've had some great experiences and some horrible ones BUT I do look back on it in a positive way. I met my husband on match. It wasn't easy but I did find him and lot of other great guys/ dates.

I met my partner online. It was through some app that used to be connected to Facebook. We talked online for a bit, exchanged numbers and continued to talk for the next 6 months before meeting.

We've been together 9 years this year, engaged, have a son and pregnant with our second.
