spotting? reassurance

First yes, I've called my doc and yes I have an appointment.  In the meantime, was wondering who all has experienced this...in currently 6w 1d and after a bowel movement had pink spotting.  More than I was comfortable with brushing off.  My docs office reassured me it's probably just my cervix but am having a scan Friday morning and meeting with a midwife.  Can anyone relate? Please no miscarriage stories...! I know it's always a possibility but looking for positivity.
