Sickle Cell

My boyfriend has sickle cell and lately his crisis are becoming more frequent and even more painful. It's so hard for me to see him in so much pain and there's nothing that I can do about it. I'm really afraid that I'm going to lose him. He's currently in the hospital and in extreme pain.  Any tips on how to deal with someone who has sickle cell?
