What does it mean when I guy doesnt want anybody to know hes with you?

So I have this ex. We broke up after being together for 3 years and have a daughter together. Just about everybody is happy that we broke up and doesnt want us around each other. Its been 4 months since we broke up. But. Hes still coming over here to spend the night and what not. But he never tells anybody that he is over here with me. What do you think that means????
