UTI with spotting 8 weeks

Okay sorry to bother everyone but I'm freaking out a little I went to the doctor this morning and I have a UTI so I went to get my medicine and came home went to the bathroom and had some light brown spotting. I called my OB and they said that can happen with a UTI but I don't feel any better about it at all I want to know everything is okay but they just said to keep an eye on it has anyone else ever had this happen?
