Would you quit breastfeeding?

breastfeeding?" /> I am an EP and my life is crazy right now. To say the least my parents are getting divorced, my grandma is on her deathbed, my husband is a liar and keeps abusing drugs. I also work 16 hours a week as an RN. I am so stressed and I feel like pumping is just one more stress since I have to up early every day to pump and unless my 4 month old actually takes a nap (very rare) he gets super fussy while I pump because I'm not holding him or playing with him. I feel very guilty about not giving breastmilk though because my goal was 6 months. Just wondering what you would do?

If its too much I would just stop. Being stressed could also affect your supply I think.

Sorry you're going through so much. I stopped breastfeeding with my daughter because it made me soooo emotional and stressed about everything. It wasn't how I wanted to live. Best thing I could have done for the sake of myself and our family❤️

Breastfeeding is more that should be enjoyable. I felt like it was stressing me out due to my baby not wanting to latch- c section hurting too much & was starting to get pp depression. That being said, if you think it's too much do you then yes...

Just be ready for people to throw it at your face & judge for it. (Everyone judged me) BUT, after I stopped breastfeeding I got to enjoy my daughter more & wasn't stressed out as much AND was actually happy.

The reason i said no i wouldnt was because from my point of view it seems like alot of thing around you arent going right for the moment. Alot of stress and heart ache. So for me getting to that six month mark would be like haha i did it anyways! Even with everything going on if it was a goal you set for yourself id stick to it because it seems like there is alot that right now you cant control so id maintain control over a goal you can personally. No shame either way, you know you best but thats what i would do.

Maybe try combination feeding if baby is taking bottles anyway. That way they still get benefits from breast milk and you don't have as much pressure on yourself.

Could you maybe cut back to how many times a day you pump? I'm also an EP. At one point it was stressing me out and when I cut back on the number of sessions it really helped with my sanity. My babe is eleven months  (I'm going until 12) and I'm pumping two times a day, and I'm slowing cutting back the time so when she's 12 months I can stop. But it's definitely not worth being super stressed out about. Your baby will love you either way. Breast milk is great, but your happiness is more important.

As long as your baby is fed life is good. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for whatever decision you make. Life isn't alsways black and white 💗💗 I hope you feel better soon!!
