Unprotected Sex on IUD?

Question

What does everyone think about having unprotected sex with the IUD? Is it safe? I've had my IUD for about 7 months and have had unprotected sex but still worry about it a little bit.

I've had my IUD for 9 months and have unprotected sex with hubby every day/night. The whole purpose of the IUD is so that u don't get pregnant. Although it will NoT prevent u from STDs or STIs.

I've had mine for 2 years now and I've been having unprotected sex since my 2nd week of having it placed. I don't even worry about it anymore I trust it enough to know I won't get pregnant and I don't check my stings anymore I only did for the first like 4 months because I was paranoid but I haven't checked them since then plus my doctor reassured me that if it were to dislodge I'd feel it meaning I'd be having horrible cramps , so far so good Ill be getting mine switched next year in June! I love my iud best decision I ever made ! :)

Every couple of months i get a little paranoid but I just take a pregnancy test if my period is unusually out of cycle(because my cycle is irregular as it is), but the only times i have used a condom with an iud is to protect  against STIs. Sperm is no match for the Mirena

I worry a little too, it's probably natural to worry a little:) I asked my gynecologist about that and she said that the risk is very very low, that it's one of the best birth controls out there (aside from getting a historectomy) all by itself so idk if this helps, but that's what I've been told by my doctor. 😊

I've never had protected sex w/ my iud, but I recently found out they're not really 99.9 percent affective, they're 86.4 or 84.6 I can't remember. So it's still not a big chance, but it's a chance of getting pregnant
