*update* Need nap tips

Sarah

My LO is 16 weeks old and I was wondering if anyone can give tips on napping. He goes down and sleeps no problem at night. During the day however can be challenging. He gets tired around 1h45m after eating. Once I see the cues I'll pick him up and do a combination of rocking, patting his back and humming and he's asleep in a couple minutes. The problem is putting him down somewhere to nap. I've tired his bassinet, boppy lounger and his vibration chair recliner thing and he'll either wake up immediately or sleep for like 5 more minutes. SOMETIMES he can sleep for about 20 mins but that's less than 50% of the time. I've tried waiting until he's in a deep sleep but no matter what I feel like he sleeps longest while on my chest and I would desperately like to be able to use his nap time to be productive. Ideally I would like him to nap in his crib so later it'll be an easier transition sleeping in his crib at night instead of the bassinet. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Update

So I tried a combination of everyone's suggestions and so far so good! So on Tuesday once I saw his sleepy ques I picked him up and just laid him across my lap and put a (new/different) pacifier in his mouth and to my shock he fell asleep almost instantly with no rocking, patting or singing. I immediately put him in the crib (I also reclined it by putting a rolled up towel under the mattress because his bassinet is reclined I thought he'd sleep better). He was still sleepy/awake when I put him in and no fuss! He just closed his eyes again and slept! That day I got 2-3 25 min naps in the crib doing the same thing: in my arms and once his eyes are closed, therefore still aware of the move, put him in his crib. That night he was really hard to put down though in his bassinet. It normally doesn't take that long at all but then I tried putting him in his crib...He went to sleep. I'm not sure if it was from being exhausted from trying to go to sleep for 2 hours or what but he slept. I'll admit I wasn't ready for him to sleep in the crib at night but hey if he's ready I'm not going to put him in the bassinet for my comfort. Yesterday was a success as well, all naps in the crib about 25-30 minutes each. It was a little hard putting him down again last night but not as long as the night before. And right now he's taking his first nap of the day and he's been sleeping for an hour now! He's never taken a nap that long! Thank you to everyone that commented! This is still a working process but already going well! Hopefully soon I can just put him in and he can fall asleep on his own.
