How much can a scale vary? Am I crazy? :(

I have been EBF and concerned about my babies weight. He lost 10% at week one, and wasn't back at his birth weight until close to week 3.
I have a baby scale at home - I never really trusted this scale, until the past 5 days he seemed to have been gaining an oz a day, so I figured it's correct.
Last night I weighed him and it read: 8 lb 9.5 oz. he should be weighing more, but he's gaining at least..
Went to the pediatrician today, nurse says he weighs 9lb 14 oz!!!!!!!
I didn't see her weigh him, and I almost don't believe it....

Now that I'm home I'm nervous and wish I saw it for myself. I trust them.. I just don't understand how it could differ so much.
And he doesn't look 2+ lbs bigger?

My daughter came down with RSV. When I called her doctor, she was on vacation so they sent us to a doctor who was covering in the same physicians group. Their scale said that the baby had lost almost 2 pounds, and the covering doctor had me a wreck saying we needed to monitor her. When we got home we kept weighing her on our regular scale and it kept coming up what she should've been. Fast forward 5 days, she went to her regular doctor and her weight was normal. So every scale varies. Weighing in 2 pounds less for an adult might actually make us happy, but for babies it's a scary thing.

Did you not think at the time to look? Or were you unable to? I would assume the doctors scale is correct. You aay you never fully trusted the one you have.

Oh my gosh I hate using different scales. My baby was 7.6 at birth. Lost down to 6.13 the next day. 2 weeks later he was 8.5 at the doctors scale. That same day I had an appointment with a LC at my home. Her scale had him at 7.2. She said I was starving my baby even after telling her about the difference in scales. 😑 never saw her again but you can see how much of a difference they are. I have a home one I go by for my own sanity now.
