I know it's still 6 months away, but I'm a planner and am already thinking of what to get my daughter for her second birthday. I was discussing this with my MIL and I told her we want to get her a potty and panties for her second birthday. Obviously, that wouldn't be the only gift we get her. My MIL went on a rant of how that's not a "proper" birthday gift and that she would go ahead and buy her those things because she shouldn't have to get them as a gift.

Does anyone else see a problem with getting a potty and panties as a birthday gift?
