Can you leave your baby/toddler in the car while you pump gas?

Saw a post and it made me think. Do you need to literally get your kid out (while you're around those intense fumes) while you pump? I pay with a credit card so I don't have to go in the store to pay. If yes, do you leave the windows down or up?

🤔 It never dawned on me to get my kids out... I'd think that's more dangerous but maybe I'm missing something? I leave them in the car while I pump . I pay with a card at the pump so I'm right there and I have my keys in my pocket, out of the ignition, as I do it. I actually read online about friction from moving, clothes, static etc.  near the pumps can cause sparks. Freaked me out enough to move with caution every time I get gas now lol.

I leave my baby in the car. I'm next to it the entire time & it only takes maybe 5 mins.

I personally would but all the windows had to be open and maybe one door open 😂 yup I'm crazy scared when it comes to that including smoking and perfume etc etc

I get my partner to get gas but I wouldn't bring baby outside the car unless I had to go inside I guess

No!!!!! I leave the kids in car, pump and pay at pump. I can't imagine it being safer to take my toddler outnodnthebcar near the oumpnehole I'm pumping plus my baby. I've never seen anyone standing there holding a kid or baby while pumping gas.

I don't like bringing my daughter to the gas station with me. I ask my husband to put gas in the car for me when I'm running low.
