We registered for a Snuza Hero movement monitor, and I have never been so thankful in my life. This morning, at around 4:15a, my husband and I were woken to the alarm on my son's monitor sounding. He had quit breathing for at least 20 seconds. We were able to quickly rouse him. He is doing absolutely fine, but I don't know if I will ever sleep again. SIDS peaks at 2-4 months of age, and begins to taper around 6 months. Our son is only 5 1/2 weeks. He sleeps on his back in a co-sleeper crib near us. It's so terrifying to think we could have lost him when we have been so careful to follow all guidelines.
