I forgave my partner for cheating, but we had been having some issues. I'm certainly not condemning his infidelity, but it made me realise we had to buck up our ideas and work on each other. 3 years on, we're still together and have been engaged for 6 months. 
I certainly haven't forgotten it, but it does get easier. 
It made it even harder as he remained friends with her, and she wanted to be my friend too, after a while, I couldn't do it anymore so gave him a choice. Me or her. He picked me. He doesn't even see her anymore.

I feel once they have crossed that line they truly don't see you the same. That love that would have kept him from cheating is no longer there no matter how much they try to tell you other wise. Once its happened it's time to leave and go through the pain of the loss but trust me you will be very happy you did.
