cervidil/pitocin/induction without epidural
Was due Feb 28th so I've hit 41 weeks and it was time to make a plan with my midwife. Their Schtick is "we don't do epidurals" which I was fine with imagining I'd go into natural labor, have a water birth, know that labor is not fun and survive. I was a whopping 1 cm today and they were able to do a membrane sweep but I don't seem to be progressing. I could induce thursday, or wait until Sunday with another round of NST on Friday and another sweep if needed. I feel like regardless of Thursday or Sunday I will end up induced. The plan is cervidil at 5:30pm and then after some walking, bouncing, a shower and breakfast pitocin in the morning if the cervidil didn't do enough in its own. Just looking for some support, or experiences with cervidil and/or pitocin without an epidural. I believe that were I not coping I'd have options they just don't discuss until needed because this practice's thing is really trying to keep you in the natural mindset. No need to put down their methods- I picked them for a reason knowing full well this could happen. Just looking for positivity and experiences.
