I read both books, haven't seen either movie but I will say this: if you want a story with an ending, go with Best of Me. It's somewhat predictable (or maybe I've read too many of his books) but it's good. If I Stay is kind of grated toward younger audiences and it's #1 in a 3 part series and the ending will PISS YOU OFF. It required me too read the test just to see what the hell happened, I was outraged at the last sentence! 😲 lol Just my two cents though!
