Is it okay to want to have kids at 40?

im 22 years old.. i do not plan on having kids for along time.... maybe around early 40's. Will i be okay to have babies then? Or no? My moms friends still having babies in the 40's so why not lol.. But is it harder ? Or ? and plus i'm on the Iud for 10 years.. ++++

After 35 your risks go up when you get pregnant besides having a older mom really isnt too fun

It can be harder you would be high risk advanced maternal age starting around age 35 at that point your eggs arent as great as they are right now in your 20s your baby would be at higher risk for birth defects or abnormalities such as downs syndrome and autism spectrum however it is possible to have a healthy normal pregnancy and healthy normal baby

I waited until I was 35 to get pregnant. Your chances of being able to conceive at a later age becomes smaller but not impossible. If I were you, I'd freeze some eggs now that you're super young for when you're ready. I never thought about doing that because I didn't think I'd get to 35 and no baby. I thought I'd have a child around 33, but life doesn't always happen as we plan. Good luck!

I do believe there are some more risks when having children at that age, but it's certainly doable. You should have kids when you are ready for them. Maybe you can also look into freezing some eggs just in case?

The peak time in a human females life to have a child is around 25. That is when we are typically most fertile, have healthy eggs, and are most physically capable of bearing children. Beyond the complications of our bodies aging, your eggs age too. You were born with all the eggs you will ever have. Many women run out and hit menopause by 45. Those last remaining eggs are survivors but they are dying. 
But I think its okay if you plan properly. Freeze some healthy eggs now, just in case, and take care of yourself. You want to be in the best health possible, physically and mentally, to have a healthy pregnancy. Its true for anyone, but especially something to be mindful of if you plan to have children at an older age.
