Best product for a newborn to sleep in?

What's best for your newborn to sleep in? I've read so many reviews (good and bad) about all these different products (bassinets, rock n plays, etc) and can't seem to settle on one I'm comfortable with...from causing flat spots on baby's head to motors dying too soon...I can't decided what's best/safest. What are your thoughts?
